COVID-19 WORKS—Elliott Fastrack, Connolly Hospital-Laboratory, New Emergency Department
Blanchardstown, Dublin
Emergency Department: A single-story extension
was added to Connolly Hospital’s emergency
department to create an isolation suite and two
emergency resuscitation rooms as part of COVID
emergency works. Using Elliott Fast Track, the
project was mobilized within 2 weeks. While
diverting services and installing the raft slab,
prefabricated wall panels were designed and
manufactured. The roof was completed in 5 days,
making the building weather-tight within 15 days.
The project, including coordination with specialist
suppliers, took 22 weeks from start to handover,
with minimal preliminary design.
Laboratory: Using Elliott Fast Track, we mobilized
on-site within 2 weeks. While installing the
raft slab, SFS prefabricated wall panels were
manufactured and installed in 2 days, followed
by the roof. The building was weatherproofed,
allowing internal work to begin alongside window
and external render installation. Coordination with
specialist equipment providers and early ordering
of long-lead items were critical due to the fastpaced 15-week program. High standards of 昀椀nish
and effective collaboration with the Hospital team
were key to the project’s success.
