Value Added to the Project
At Elliott’s we have the skills to develop and
manage complex project logistics with access
constraints. At our £18m Cadent Gas project
in Berkshire we had to develop and maintain a
complex logistics plan for the project to avoid
cross contamination of a site where far more
contaminated ground was found than was
anticipated during the construction process. The
contamination discovered could have seriously
impacted on the project duration and costs, but
we were able to minimise this impact by:
+ Devising
a
phasing
plan
for
the
decontamination works which allowed us
to commence the construction works in line
with our programme
+ A strict traf昀椀c marshalling plan was put in
place and rigorously maintained to ensure
that vehicles operating in contaminated
areas were prevented from entering the
remediated areas and visa versa. This was a
live document and was continuously under
review
+ We negotiated and agreed alternative access
and egress points for construction traf昀椀c
through adjoining lands which allowed us
to complete the remediation across the
main site access prior to completing the
construction works.
